Copy-editing From a completed manuscript, either as hard copy or on-screen, Nicheworks perform a variety of tasks and checks on the text. We read it for clarity and sense; consistency and lack of repetition; grammatical and spelling errors; whilst at the same time checking design and layout, coding up heading levels and confirming that the design specification has been followed. | | Editing and rewriting Perhaps this type of project could best be described as the deconstruction and rebuilding of text. There may be a need to carry out research into the subject to embellish the text, or to ask you to provide new material that will be used to reconstruct the picture. |

Writing and copy generation Nicheworks copy-writers are well used to working from a wide range of sources. These can range from journal articles and reviews, to overhead slides, scribbled notes, telephone interviews and general correspondence. | | |

Project management Any creative team requires one member to organise the schedule and budget, to liaise with the client and keep the rest of the team on track with regard to design and content. Often, an organisation is happy to sub-contract this role externally to a project manager who has experience of running a project from conception to production and the ability to work under pressure with a variety of people. | | Proofreading This is one of the most underrated aspects of the generation and dissemination of business literature and correspondence!
Books and journals are proofread, either in-house or externally, both at first and second stage proofs. Although no one can ever guarantee 100% perfection, having your document proofread by a professional can dramatically improve the impact it has on your audience. |

 | | Website editing and proofreading You've had a fantastic website designed and can't wait to launch it, then you spot a typographical error that just cannot be ignored. The more you look at it, the more glaring it becomes! Perhaps it would be a good idea to invest in some professional proofreading to avoid such a scenario? |

French translation The art of good translation is to produce copy that retains a sense of the original, conveys the correct information and reads fluently and intelligently. A first translation is often checked by a second translator who is able to read the English without being biased with the French original - awkward structure is corrected, more suitable words suggested and the fluidity enhanced. | | French tuition and conversation Nicheworks regularly work with small groups who have a good command of the French language but who wish to improve pronunciation, confidence and vocabulary in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. |
